Upcoming Shows in the VK Garage

Two great shows are coming to the VK Garage Theater in September.

The Memory Ensemble hits the stage at the Playhouse 2000’s intimate VK Garage Theater Saturday, September 16th at 7:30pm featuring the very best from the American Musical Theatre Songbook. Featuring hits from Oklahoma!, Fiddler on the Roof, South Pacific, Guys and Dolls, Little Shop of Horrors, Evita and much more, the Memory Ensemble walks you through over 50 years of Broadway with songs that touch the heart and stand the test of time.

The Memory Ensemble consists of Kerry Goff, Baritone, Zac Tiedemann, Tenor, Brynn Bowyer, Soprano, Ashleigh Goff, Alto and Katie Murphy, Mezzo Soprano. The Ensemble is accompanied by pianist Nancy Rickerhauser. Members of The Memory Ensemble call Fredericksburg and Kerrville their home. All members of The Memory Ensemble have been seen on the Fredericksburg Theater Company stage.

Picking up eight years after the events of Blast Radius, Sovereign completes the story of a sister and a brother at mortal odds in a radically changed Earth. The alien race that has ruled the Earth has fallen to Ronnie’s rebellion, with the few remaining survivors on the run. The human race is slowly rebuilding all over the world. Ronnie is now the battle-scarred Governor of what used to be Florida, everyone’s hero and no one’s friend.

Until one night, when Ronnie’s soldiers smuggle into her office the greatest war criminal in the world: her brother Abbie, the foremost human ally of the extraterrestrials. When dawn comes, the people of Ronnie’s settlement will certainly discover him and rip him to pieces. As Ronnie grapples with an awful decision about what to do with the man she hates and loves in equal measure, Abbie makes one last desperate move, forcing a confrontation that will forever change the future of the human race. Unfolding over two suspenseful real-time acts, Sovereign brings The Honeycomb Trilogy to a wrenching and unforgettable climax.

Sovereign will be presented in the VK Garage Theater September 21-23 at 7:30 p.m.

  1. Denise Smith says

Hey this is Denise Smith Art’s friend. I have couple of suggestions. It is difficult to figure out what vk garage is and play house 2000. Is there a way to streamline everything under calioux theater and arts. Several people have brought this to my attention.

    • Thanks for the feedback. We actually intentionally separated the VK Garage and Playhouse 2000 websites from the Cailloux Theater since they are distinct operations of our company. Our plan is to eventually have an overarching Kathleen C. Cailloux City Center for the Performing Arts site that will include pages for the individual theaters that are part of the center. We hope this will help clarify the connection and keep the different functions of our company separate. Look for the changes soon!
