The Rainmaker Runs Two More Weekends

Meet H.C. (R Sheldon Boyce) and Lizzie Curry (Heather Cunningham).

They live “in a time of drought” which, at least in Lizzie’s case means more than just a lack of rain.  Though she longs for someone to share her life with, the horizon is as bereft of suitors as it has been of clouds.

Lizzie’s brother, Noah (Michael Stanard) is a no-nonsense kind of guy, seeing the world in shades of black-and-white.  Younger brother Jim (Christopher Vanderveer), takes a bit more fanciful view of the world.

Lizzie does have one potential beau in town – the Sherrif’s deputy File (Rob Ward) but he is determined never to “be a dunce with a woman” ever again.

It is into these lives that a larger-than-life character arrives one fateful day.  He calls himself Starbuck (“Mitch” Mitchell) and claims that he can bring rain to the dry land.

Whether he can bring rain or not – Starbuck proceeds to shake up the lives of the entire Curry family in this play that has become one of the most beloved in all of the dramatic literature.

It is by turns energizing, emotional, hysterically funny and – ultimately  – uplifting.  We know that you’ll enjoy it.

You can see The Rainmaker two more weekends, April 4 – April 13th, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30, with two Sunday Matinees – on April 6 and 13 – at 2:30.  Tickets are just $20 (less for students/children), and we recommend advance reservations.  Get them by clicking HERE or by calling (830) 896-9393.

See you there!
