The Game’s Afoot closes Saturday

Final Weekend to find out “who-done-it?”
As several standing ovations have attested, P2K currently-running production of the Ken Ludwig Comedy-Murder-Myster The Game’s Afoot is a certified hit.  With direction by Sarah Derousseau and Stage Management by Darcey Wagner, this top-flight cast and crew have been getting their share of raves.

The play revolves around real-life actor William Gillette, played for us by R Sheldon (The RainmakerBoyce, who invites a group of fellow actors to his “Castle” in order to pump them for information about who may have been trying to kill  him.

The group includes Felix and Madge Geisel -performed by P2K newcomers Allen Rudolph and Michele Ilich-Daubas – who are among Gillette’s best friends, and the group’s “romantic leads” Aggie Wheeler and Simon Bright, played by Gale (Lion, Witch, WardrobeGivens and John

(Romeo and Juliet)

Binion.  All of these friends are met at the manse by Gillette’s somewhat dotty, but doting mother, Martha, played by Christine Crowley

The final guest to arrive is the catty theater critic Daria Chase, played by stage novice Michele Vanfossen, of whom you’d never guess that she’s making a debut!

Some grim goings-on at the end of Act I bring a stage-struck detective tothe castle – the bumbling yet effective Inspector Goring, played by Ginny

(A Christmas CarolShaw in classic murder-mystery style.
