Over the River Plays to Full Houses

“I’ll make you a sandwich, you tell Grandpa he can’t drive no more.”

The first weekend of performances of the new Playhouse 2000 production of Joe DiPietro’s comedy about family, Over the River and Through the Woods, saw two sold-out houses and two standing ovations, indicating that P2k has a “hit” on its hands.

The cast includes Jim Boman as “Nunzio Cristano,” Guy Schaafs as “Nick,” Barbara French as “Emma Cristano,” Tommy Beaver as  “Frank Gianelli”, and Joan Bryson as “Aida Gianelli” rehearsing a scene from Over the River and Through the Woods.  Not pictured is Guy’s real-life wife, Katharine Schaafs, who plays blind-date “Caitlin O’Hare.”  The entire group is under the direction of Heather Cunningham with Stage Manager Nora Segura.

Over the River and Through the Woods continues on the VK Garage stage through October 13th.  Fridays’ and Saturdays’ performances begin at 7:30, and two Sunday Matinees (October 6 and 13) begin at 2:30.  Tickets are $20, general admission, and can be reserved by clicking HERE to go to the brand new Playhouse2000 web site, by calling (830) 896-9393 or by visiting our Box Office or the Kerrville Visitor’s Center on Sidney Baker Road.
