Over the River….OPENS FRIDAY

September 23 –  “It was always hot in my Grandparents’ house…”

Over the River and Through the Woods a warm and wacky comedy about family.

Nick Cristano is part of a large and loving family, and even though his own folks have run off to warmer climes, Nick still shares every Sunday afternoon with his New Jersey Grandparents.  They are first-generation Americans, and know the value of a hard day’s work, a plentiful dinner table, and family ties.

Between hilarious discussions of “that actress – you know, the one with the hair and the face” and endless meals (“you’ll take some for later”) Nick announces that he’s been offered a promotion that’s exactly what he wants, except it means moving across the country.

Just how far will his Grandparents go to persuade Nick to stay?  That’s the question we’ll answer in this funny yet touching play by Joe DiPietro.

Pictured here are  Jim Boman as “Nunzio Cristano,” Guy Schaafs as “Nick,” Barbara French as “Emma Cristano,” Tommy Beaver as  “Frank Gianelli”, and Joan Bryson as “Aida Gianelli” rehearsing a scene from Over the River and Through the Woods.  Not pictured is Guy’s real-life wife, Katharine Schaafs, who plays blind-date “Caitlin O’Hare.”  The entire group is under the IMG_2611direction of Heather Cunningham with Stage Manager Nora Segura.
