House for Sale Opens Friday

Your Playhouse 2000 is ready to kick off Season 2017 with a new Comedy/Drama that touches on topics many local families know very well. Ron Hill’s House for Sale opens at the VK Garage Theater on Friday, February 3rd.

Many local residents will recognize the play’s leading characters, Glen Martin and his daughter Helen from their own lives. Glen is getting up in years, and Helen’s job won’t allow her to live close enough to him. Should he sell the family home and move in with Helen? It’s a tough decision.

Glen’s solution is to look for a roommate to share the house with him, and a wild and wacky group of potential renters answers his ad. Ultimately, the choice must still be made, leading to some touching moments before the play ends.

The cast of House for Sale includes Wright Roussel as Glen and Dana Adair Williams as Helen. They are joined by Russell French as Glen’s best friend Max, Barbara French as wife Faye, Jared Graf as the real estate agent Mr. Goodsell and Kevin Hill as Gary, the delivery man. The potential renters include Amanda Radkiewicz as Kate, Justin Radkiewicz as Chuck, Joan Bryson as Fanny, Maggie Meek as Sylvia, and Colton VanFossen as Apostle.

Ginny Shaw will make her P2K directing debut with this show. Her past experience has included directing at the Port Aransas Community Theater and in her home country of Wales, as well as work both on- and back-stage with Playhouse 2000. Kerri Sparkman is the Stage Manager.

House for Sale runs for three weekends beginning February 3rd. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30, with Sunday Matinees on February 12 and 19 at 2:30. All tickets are $20, and seating is General Admission.
